Every year I get asked to donate an item to be auctioned off for a fundraiser. The past two years I've made quilty/craft items that have done quite well.

This year the items I made were a clothing bag and a lap-size quilt. Orange/black are not colors I care to work with (too Halloween for me), but since it's the University of choice for our school I was persuaded to use the fabric.
I've shown the quilt in a previous post but here's the clothing bag up close. Its backed and lined with black denim. Took me three times to remember how to install a zipper! But, I was quite please with how it turned out. The kids about wore the zipper out trying it out before the sale, so I think it'll hold up. Was also asked to make three more.
Not sure I want to get into the clothing-bag business, but I bet the next one won't take three zipper attempts!
And yes....Troy already has one!

Troy is on the officer team and they hinted that I needed to make them all matching bags...yeah, in their dreams.....

It is so sweet of you to donate the items for the auction. Both of them are great. The quilt looks like it would fit a very big lap. Do you find that the quilts go for reasonable prices at auctions? I was thinking of donating a quilt to my daughter's school fundraiser, but wasn't sure it would go for less than the price of the fabric.
That's a neat clothes bag. I'd never try making that. Orange and black were my high school colors so I like them!

Great clothes bag, what a wonderful idea, and the quilt is lovely too of course. How generous of you to donate them for the auction. Well done!

Great for you to donate your time, talent and efforts to such a great cause!
Cheers!

Mama,
Yeah, I am not too fond of orange and black either. They're the colors of my University's rival team (Oregon State University- OSU). I am a green and yellow fan myself- University of Oregon, UO- GO DUCKS! My hubby graduated OSU and I UO...so we have our own little rivalry!
DANG BLOGGER! Anyway...I really like your projects; what a generous lady you are...projects take time and time is precious! Glad you enjoy it!
...Yeah, I too, grew up on a farm, so am all too familiar with the woes of farming! Glad to hear someone else knows where I am coming from! Don't have many friends who do!
What a generous person you are to donate all that time and fabric to such a great cause. That clothes bag is great - I'd have taken the team up on their 'hint' about all needing matching ones and charged them all ..... can you tell I don't have a job out of the home? LOL.
Wonderful job my friend!
Warm Wishes was the quilt pattern?
I would have to study how to put a zipper in too at this point.
