The only good thing about driving a tractor (except I had tons of other stuff I shoulda been doing) is that I get caught up on listening to The BOB radio station. Have no idea why, but their station will not come in at my house or at work. Yes, I know they're on the OTHER side of Okie-land but I always know it's tuned in on one of the tractors. Yeah, I know.... weird what us farmers listen to. Also late-night is when all the weird commericals come out. The one that really caught my attention is that I could apply to become a Highway Patrol because I have 'hostage-situation' experience....hey...I've lived with 4 men for 20 years...I've held kids hostage before...I can negotiate with a middle child...I can negotiate with ANYBODY! I actually think I'm over qualified for that position.
While I was out be-booping to the good old oldies like Fleetwood Mac, Genesis, Foreigner, and Rod Stewart I shoulda been in the house finishing up my OSU quilt. No, it won't get entered in this year's county fair but I've still got a few days to finish it and I'll get there.....
The other thing that always happens to me when the full moon comes out, I start singing David Frizzell's song about "a full moon over Tulsa". No, I'm not quitting my day job, but why do some of those songs just stay with us? Maybe that song is just an Okie thang.
About midnight I got accused of desserting the gang, but a girl has gotta get some beauty sleep sometime. I'll finish the orange/black project tonight.......maybe, if I don't get caught and have to go drive back and forth and back and forth. It IS wheat planting time and it takes all of us to get it done..but there are some of us who just can't figure out how to cook supper...
I gotta go to work to rest!

gee, and to the rest of the world, farms look like such quiet, peaceful, escape from it all Norman Rockwell paintings-reality can be such a letdown! What happened to going to bed 'with the chickens'! LOL
No moon for me, it was pouring rain last night! :P
Your hostage comment makes me think of the new TV show, Standoff, about 2 negotiators and the situations they face. Hostage problems aren't for me! :)
LOL! I had a dr appt yesterday, and DH decided to come along. The doc knows that we are farmers and that DH expects me to drive tractor (nothing was said to her by either of us during this time). Anyway, she told him I could continue working, but that I am not allowed to drive in "bumpy" fields as it is not good for me, the baby, or my uterus! Guess what DH wanted me to do after we left the appt? Drive in a bumpy field! So on the way down to the field he said, "I guess you are just going to have to drive REALLY SLOW!" Gee thanks! LOL! THought you would enjoy a chuckle over this! M~
Yep, I did---I was tripping around out through the kitchen last night after lights out and boy, did that lovely moon light up the sky. Tonight we are half trying to have some thunderstorms so probably will not see it as clearly until things settle down out there.

LOL! You just described what I do everyday!!! I have been catching up on your posts. Your fair quilt is just gorgeous! I love sunflowers!!!
My dad retired from farming 33 years ago (mid-life crisis... lol.) and the one thing he says he misses is night time during harvest. Just him, the combine, and the sky. Your post reminded me of that...
My oldest DD called me last night and said Mom go look at the moon, it's a funny color. Yep, it was the same moon you were toiling under.
Talking about nighttime radio shows my favorite is CoasttoCoast talk show. Now that is show to listen to out on a tractor out in the open with no one around......
I commented the moon to my friend Hanne when she drove me home last night. we had a lovely time quilting and talking. The moon was so extraordinary beautiful. The autumn is for me a very beautiful season. I love its colours, red, yellow, orange, brown, green aso. My colours.
Have a nice day.
Everyone is moody around here - the moon is getting blamed for it.
I love BOB! I am listening to it right now. They play everything. Sometimes even disco, my favorite!

Gee whiz girl - you sure do work out on there! Didn't see the moon, but do know how beautiful it can be when it's so big. You need your beauty sleep .... don't have those guys working you so hard - okay? You have an excuse ..... you have a day job!
Wasn't the moon gorgeous? Driving a tractor seems like a pretty adventurous experience to me. I never feel like a city girl (because I'm not!) but I've never been close to a real tractor either.
Thanks for planting wheat so the rest of us can have bread! :)
