Getting along...

I've had a boy home sick with strep-throat and he really doesn't need me holding his hand so I'm sewing. He sleeps just fine in the recliner and loves watching old movies or music videos. I can multi-task so I sew as I listen to him snore.

Here's my accomplishment :

I started this as I was trying to use up scraps from my bullseye (homespun) quilt. Guess I didn't realize just how many scraps I had accumulated! AND...it's grown since this picture was taken. The picture looks purply and it has a lot of blue in it, so that's maybe why.

BTW--it's a BONNIE design!

When I get the border on I'll post another picture. This has been one of those quilts that grew f-a-s-t . ..but when you're making it for a boy who also grew f-a-s-t...a small lapquilt just won't do.

Gratitude for this week: antibiotics that we're not allergic to!

I'm working on that design too, but I love yours in the plaids. Hope the boy recovers quickly.

Your quilt looks great, I love all the plaids in it. And yes, it's a Bonnie quilt *vbs*
Personally ... I can't get 'Stayin' alive' outta my head ... you know, from when he's struttin' down the street ...

Your quilt looks great -- hope your son is on the mend. It's not fun for anyone when a young one ill.

Very nice! This should be a cozy quilt made from homespuns.

Looking good! I am going to be cutting bricks from my bin of homespuns soon--I got sidetracked yesterday and only have a few cut but believe I will be skipping the 4 patch part unless I chunk them up wider.

Hope your son feels better soon.

This quilt looks great! I didn't realize that purple came in plaids like that. Hope your son gets well soon. My sick child is upstairs sleeping.

I have big boys too and you're right they do need big quilts. My husband is 6'4 and I don't bother making anything less than twin size for him.

It's a great design for a boy - I have a little plaid collection, hmmm. Hope the little one is soon feeling better.

Looks nice! I like the plaids too.

With a son sick, you ought to be doing some paper piecing, when he feels better, he might be bored enough to rip the paper off for you... lol

Great use of those leftover plaids. What a nice quilt for a boy/man.

Quilt looks stunning....

Not at all like the one Bonnie did. Different fabrics make all the difference....

I was checking out the members of the quilt ring I joined and wanted to say hello.

love it! I love all those plaids and the fact that they aren't all dark. Very striking quilt! Good job!

Well, hooray for multi-tasking! I hope you son is feeling better soon. And a growing son - yeah, I have one of those - at 3 years old he already thinks he is too tall for all his toddler quilts and has been asking for a longer one - so he can tuck his feet in nice and snuggy wuggy. So - maybe it is a good thing that your quilt has grown a bit! It is lovely.

Cheers!

What a lovely looking quilt! I have a lot of plaid scraps and this might just be the pattern that I use.
