Well...it finally grew up and turned into this:

As soon as I get the backing figured out, it's going to Bonnie for quilting. Yes, I'm on her list so it won't be a surprise to her! I have faith that it's going to be marvelous when it returns.
If anybody wonders--the dark border is green not black. The next thin border is a dark ecru/camel (plaid)color. I thought taking it outside would let the colors show up, but on my screen it looks dark too.
BTW--it's 84x104 MOL
AND.....I still have homespun scraps!

This turned out so nice! I do love this pattern and hope to get one done as soon as I can get a few other things out of the way first. It's way up on my list of wannados.
Your version turned out great! I have homespuns marked to make one of Bonnie's star quilts, but I don't dare start until I finish the 1st homespun quilt first - just in case...you never know when you WILL run out of homespuns!
Cheers!
Evelyn
Is the second photo more correct color wise?
It is nice either way, but I was struck by how purple the top one looks...
I gave away all of my homespuns! YIPPEE!
That pattern really suits the homespun fabrics. Looking good.
I have some homespun but I have yet to do anything with them. I don't think I have enough for a scrappy quilt though - so in the mean time I will just keep collecting them.
This quilt is really beautiful ! I LOVE this pattern each time I see it... will have to make it, in the future......
BRAVO !
Smiles !
NADINE.
It turned out great, I hope mine does as well-whenever I get around to pulling it out and finishing it. I like your borders on it, too.
I just love how your quilt looks, it's just wonderful! Isn't it amazing how you can sew and sew with scraps and make no visible dent in them? It always has me shaking my head!

Oh, it's just wonderful! What a great way to use up your homespun scraps. I really like the border. I often place a dark border the way you have, but I've always made it really narrow. I love the way you've flipped around that idea. I'll be saving a picture of this for inspiration, unless you don't want me to.

Your quilt is just wonderful...you did a great job with the colors.
Lovely my friend, absolutely lovely! And boy it sure is big isn't it? Can't wait to see what Bonnie does on it for you. This is the pattern I'd like to use for my homespun scraps - I think DH needs his own quilt ..... his birthday is in 3 weeks, don't think I'd ever get it done before then. Oh well, there's always next year.

Yep, I do remember that one. Border sets if off nicely. Big quilt--no wonder you are sending it out.
Oh I LOVE IT! I love homespuns. Unfortunately, I don't have enough stash to do scrappy quilts. I'm working on it though!
Your quilt turned out beautifully! I just love the way the borders contain those homespuns!
It looks great! I've got a ton of homespun fabrics even though I've only made 3 quilts from them. They're on my list to use this year and I'm thinking a Roman Stripes or string variation. They look great in this pattern too.
It is a beautiful quilt - I like the green with the purple.
It looks so good in homespuns! Bonnie really created a classic -- I made this one last year, you can't go wrong.
This is such a great quilt! I love the flashes of red in the 4-patches as well as all the plaids. I have my bricks n stones pieces cut and ready to sew - they're in brights and I'm looking forward to sewing it together :-)
Great quilt!
I made mine in pastels and I only made it 40x60. You win!
I have been wondering about you. I hope is all okay in your area.
Take care!
Love this quilt. I am surprised the difference in color between the two pics. I assume the top photo is truer. If you need to stash the bodies of your homespun scraps let me know! I am trying to get my hands on some without buying it!
