Not a week for sewing.

This time of year we're busy with kids. Stock shows fill our weekends for the next couple of months. If/when I find time to sew, it'll be slim.
Left picture is Troy and his blue-ribbon pig. He won a third place with the other one, but the best prize was Senior Showmanship. He does a good job.
Pies...low-fat, no-calorie, chocolate and coconut creme pies (lies, but sounds good). Sold for $2 a slice in the concession stand. I just now noticed that my dishwasher is open in this picture. Thank goodness for the maytag....it gets used daily around here.
I have another big group coming for supper on Valentines Day. Just going to close the door on the sewing room and tell them that the occupant is busy!

You almost got me all excited with the low fat thing!! Too good to be true!
We found out tonight that Sara lived on CSI!!
Well done with the show, and I am a big believer in shutting the sewing room door when the visitors come!Tracey

That sure is a nice looking pig! I'm sure you are very proud of Troy!!! The pies look delicious!

Yes, I also know that there are times when we just can't quilt. Family always comes first around here too.

Hi, Mama Koch! Thanks for commenting on my blog. I had resolved to do a better job of blogging, getting around to 'visit', finishing UFO's, etc. and am doing marginally well. I'm checking things on my lap top while cooking supper--not famous for my multi-tasking but I persevere. Love that blue ribbon pig. We're would-be farmers here in the swath of land between Charlotte and Atlanta where growth has been so pervasive, we're lucky to have our small farm to grow hay and DH leases other fields.

Pie.........yum! I can't imagine buying home made pie at a snack bar!

Sounds like your family is having fun and that comes before sewing in my book.

I'd pay $20 for a slice of your coconut pie! :)

Congratulations to Troy on his Showmanship. Is he in 4-H? Nice looking pig too! Brings back memories of watching the kids from our club in the ring. Enjoy the family and the company! Looks like they will be eating well!

And the whole pie is how much? Looks yummy! Nice looking young man and pig, too. I know you look forward to getting back behind that closed door, sewing, and I'll look forward to seeing your pictures. I guess this is where you are living the blocks from Pat Sloan's block of the month. =) Weren't pies the first one?

Oh you are making me hungry--not only those yummy pies but I remember those brownies with the kisses and that lovely cheesecake.

Love how your bargello is looking in the plaids. I bet you still haven't made a dent in your stash even with another plaid quilt. Also like what you ar doing with your mystery quilt--the rails in the borders instead of the blocks. It is your quilt so why not?

That is a fine blue ribbon pair you have captured on film there! Pies look perfect - have never seen a hexagon pie pan before either!

Cheers!

Hey, I found your site from another blog. The Oklahoma Farm interested me. We live in eastern Oklahoma on a farm and also participate in the stockshows. I'm enjoying my last week before the stockshow storms hit. My hubby is an Ag teacher...so, we will never outgrow it...lol. You do some amazing work. Nice finding another OKIE on here...have a blessed day! Traci
