Perenially Crazy

I have a love for the things that are outtawack. Maybe for things that are eclectic....or things that are just different from the rest of the world. I can blame it on my Mom since she's not here to say different. I use to tell her that she dropped me too many times...

I recently fell in love with this quilt:

It's called Folk Art Flowers and is in the book Perenially Crazy from Buggy Barn Quilts. It just LOOKS like me.

Much to my surprise, this book was delivered to my home a couple days ago. A surprise b'day gift from my dear friend in Arkansas. I now know for sure what will be my next to-do quilt. The instructions look easy and I think I can even find fabrics from my stash to use.

With all the weird-ness going on here in cyber-land, it's nice to know that we do have friends who understand. Thanks Cindy....I REALLY needed this!

Thoughts from a recent (work) meeting:
  • Remember that I can only control MY response.
  • Try to balance the good/bad.
  • Don't skip recess--take a break and enjoy your friends.
  • Be a good listener.
  • Some people just don't want to change--and will never believe.

What's not to love about that quilt- except the one in the picture needs to come complete with the matching barn and coordinating garden. How did they manage that, do you suppose???

I'm doing the heart crazies from buggy barn as my next project. Don't you love people that apreciate YOUR love for quilting. I love your thoughts from your work meeting. It's been a tough week at work for me and they really helped.
Take care.

Good philosophy there. I hate going to meeting of any kind when you swear your eyes will roll back in your head because someone is droning on and on and nothing is getting accomplished sitting in that chair. I no longer work outside the home but staff meetings, board meetings, whatever---ugh.

I like that quilt - very nice. Your thoughts on your meeting are definitely worth thinking about .... especially "don't skip recess" and "some people just don't want to change".

From experience I know family members usually don't 'get' the inner excitement of that special quilty item or even know which one is special. Enjoy! Cindy

That is a prettry quilt, and looks like it uses free form cutting which is always fun, even though it does use up a lot of fabric. Are you going to hang it outside?

I look forward to seeing how this one looks when you are finished. Buggy Barn patterns are usually pretty easy to follow.

Oh that quilt looks like fun to make. I took your link to BB and had fun looking at all the wonderful ideas. I just may have to spend some money there. Not that I don't already have a million things to do...

After seeing this picture, I investigated the Buggy Barn patterns and ended getting one of their books. I want to try their method too. It looks like fun.
