I typically don't decorate for the July 4th Holiday. Growing up, July meant working in the peanut fields and usually was up to my knees in mud moving irrigation pipes. That is another story...but since this is a quilty site..I'll show my July/Patriotic side.
This quilt was made a few years ago during my bakery years. I did try to do a few projects now and then, and this was one of them. This is actually my first Bernina-quilted project. I will not take a closer picture of it because it's not the best quilting. It is finished, and it will hang on my wall tho.
I saw this quilt pattern for sale in a magazine and thought it was a little too much red/white/blue for a bed-sized quilt--which is what they advertised the pattern for. After a zillion HST, it's a wall-sized banner.
This is the only thing I have for decoration for this holiday. Like younger years, we're still busy farming (but thankfully not peanuts)....so this is as decorated as I get.
I did take the quilt outside and take a picture of it laying in the grass. The colors are so much better outside than in my dark living room.

Everybody have a good and SAFE HOLIDAY!

welcome to the stash ring! As a canadian I don't really get the patriotic fever, but must say your flag is interesting with the wavy lines. Can't imagine the number of HST though. :-0
Nice quilt - I like the pattern. Have not seen it before. Congratulations on making all those HST's. Happy 4th
Welcome to the stash quilts ring---it is official now! I know you have been visiting a bit with us and have commented on mine.
Neat quilt but did the zigzags cause your eyes to start dancing with the optical illusion effect?
Hi there. Just wanted to tell you how much I like your sunflower quilt. I am just up the road from you in Watonga. We come to Weatherford frequently.
Been doing mostly knitting lately but have just started quilting again after a little break. Have a great 4th of July!
Welcome to the stash quilt ring! I have to say, I agree with you- that would have been a bit much for a bed- great decision to make it a wall hanging!!
harriet-- email me!
Lovely flag, but OMG, all those HST's would have made me give up. I don't decorate with seasonal quilts either - partly because I don't have any - LOL! I intend changing that for Christmas this year. Enjoy your day.
Hi mama koch, have to say I really like your red, white and blue quilt. It certainly is an unusual one..don't think I've ever seen one done with the HST's like that. Very striking..*VBS* Hope you had a great day!
