More of Summer Harvest

Bright summer sun was very hot and most of the days were cloud-filled, but didn't give us any rain until the grain was all brought in.

Terraces make curves in the rolling plains.

We always had fun during suppertime. Rachel can make anyone smile.

I keep telling them I need a 4-door pickup, but they remind me that my 32mpg Malibu can haul supper in the trunk..and feed sacks too.

No, this picture isn't blurry...it's dirt in the air. The auger goes out and the tractor driver knows to come up beside the combine to get a load of grain. Most of the time this is done without stopping. (but not if I'm driving the tractor!)

Father and son work pretty good together. Even tho son looks more like Mom!
Then the wheat goes into one of the trucks.

Troy scooping to make room for a little more.It then gets tarped for the ride to town.

We usually have a girlfriend to come out and help....I use that term loosely.

Unloading on the go.

I enjoy your harvest pictures alot. and um, yeah, the girlfriends are there more to look at than do much aren't they? The first indicator would be the shorts, but the boots look cool! :) No offense intended at the girlfriend at all. Ahhh, young love!

Thanks for sharing, I love watching harvest time. Still sorry I was so close and didn't know it. Maybe next time, if there is a next time!

Thanks for the wheat that makes the flour that makes my cookies.

My hat is off to the farmers of Oklahoma (and every where else too).

Loved the pictures.

I think those windmills are amazing, they fascinate me to no end. I just saw a tractor trailer go by the other day with one of the 'wings' on. There are some of them in western PA.
I didn't get to take any harvest pictures this year. Well they haven't finished the oats yet, there is still time!

It really burns my butt that we can't claim a farm tag on our cars....we probably carry more feed in them than the farm trucks!!
