Having closets full of t-shirts, I now wish I would've even saved more of the favorite ones worn over the years.

It's hard to see in the pictures, but I even saved the tags off of the t-shirts. On the Nike block, there's a small white label that I included in the top upper-left seam. Left it flopping, just like a regular label would stick out of the back of your shirt. There are several of these all over the t-shirt.
I have to include pictures of the night I gave it to him. We were at a stock show in OKCity in a motel room and he couldn't imagine me not giving him his present at the restaurant. A big quilt wasn't something I wanted him to rake over dinner plates.
And last but not least is the label. I always have trouble with what to say on the labels, but this one was easy. At first I thought it might embarass him, but DIL tells me that he gets the quilt out and has to show off the label too. ...and yes those were his. Probably something only a Mom could get away with.

I even got a "you did good Mom" from him after this. He had never seen a t-shirt quilt, but I bet 20 of his closest friends have now!

What a great quilt! I wish I had saved Ts from my little brother - probably not too late! Thanks for sharing.
Saska - I love the quilt! I have about 20 of Madison's Tshirts cut out and half sewn into blocks and yours gives me the motivation to finish. I already have a bag in Cullen's closet to collect his.
Absolutely lovely! And what great memories that must have brought back for Travis. Now what about the other 2 boyz? LOL
Have a great day - HUGS for you!

What a super personalised gift to give him - it looks well appreciated
What a GREAT label! I wish I'd saved my son's turtle undies...or my daughter's Barney ones! A great quilt!
Love the label-I've seen those undies before. lol
I'm trying to do a t-shirt quilt for a customer at the moment. I'm just having the hardest time cutting into the shirts, and they're not even mine.
I didn't get that the label was made out of a pair of undies! I didn't get that until I revisited the blog to post! That is SO STINKIN CUTE!
Good job, Saska! Travis looks like he wasted no time in getting under the quilt to test it out. The label is such a hoot!
That's a great quilt, and I love the label!
What a great quilt and label. I'm amazed you still have those underwear. I think my son Eric also had Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle underwear, some 15 years ago. Can you still buy them? What a hoot!!
I made t-shirt quilts for my two daughters, they are such fun, and the girls really love them. The plaid background looks great on this one, and (like everyone else has already said) the LABEL makes the quilt!
I love this idea!! It turned out just great!! The label is so funny...my oldest sons had THOSE underoos too!
That quilt is GREAT! I love the label! (I guess when the time comes, I know what I need to save...)
That label is just THE BEST!!

Hey you. Good to meet you. Love'd your son's t-shirt quilt. Sensible, practical and perfect for a man on his own. Good work Mom.
I think T-shirt quilts are fun - love the label.
