We cut wheat last night till about midnight....trying to beat the storm coming in. By 7am, we had received 2.5" of the wet stuff. The combines will be shut down for a few days and we'll loose some spots due to water standing. A high of 78 isn't quit "normal" for June!

I had to do a double take whan I saw 70's - we are in the upper 90's also not quite normal this early...
I remember those long nights with my dad trying to beat the weather. Weird weather, huh!
Hopefully, you won't loose too much of it! Right now here in KY everyone is cutting hay! It is in the high 90's here.....very HOT!

I'm sure the break in the heat will be much appreciated, though. I'm enjoying just 80's here today (E. New Mexico). I'm sure y'all had wished you had gotten all the wheat cut before the rain hit. At least it isn't hay on the ground.
As you know we have our share of that rain here in our part of the state. Hope you don't lose too much of the wheat..that is money lost.
Take care
Amelia
I also hope you don't lose much. Seventies - wow. We are in a heat wave here on the east coast.
That was sure some storm. We ended up with 4-6/10 inches here in town.
Did you get the hail that caught the car dealerships in the last storm? I wondered about you.
Oh, I am thinking of you, rain at harvest is a pain, i hope no hail, even with insurance! The World needs every seed it can get at present.
completely understand the lack of posts-this harvest time of year is mental! we are madly putting the crop in, the weather has been drier here for that than for your last few days of harvest!
Prayers that it all holds up for you and there isn't too much downgrading of your seed, Tracey
Saska, are you still here? Holy mackerel, I hope you aren't still under water, wheat and all!!!
Say something, please???
xxoo
