She sewed!

Last night while two of the guys were off spending too much money at a farm auction, I got to set down and sew. Well, I also did 3 loads of laundry (which all got folded and put away), made supper for me and the one left with me (pour soul), helped him do the chores, bring in wood for the cold night, checked on the flooring/tiling going in the new house, and all the necessary things before it got dark.

I don't have a picture to prove it, but I've done Step One in Bonnie's Mystery Quilt. I'm thinking I'm doing pretty good keeping up, and then she has to go and post Step Two. Behind again. With the weekend coming on it might be awhile before I get it done. At least I have a good stash to pull from. Definitely stash-busting project.

The weatherman is also predicting ice/sleet over the weekend. Besides making sure we're warm, we have cows/calves to keep healthy. 2002 gave us 30 days without electricity---so we can never be too prepared!
I feel for those getting blanketed with snow--you can keep it. We need the moisture, but getting a layer of ice is always hard to deal with on the farm.

Everybody have a good weekend. I should have a picture of this sewing project and the new farm-equipment purchase soon.

It sounds cold and miserable for the weekend! Good time to be stitching, so I hope you get some more time in, between taking care of the cows!

How'd they do at the auction?

OH, I just love a good auction! I went to many an auction when I was little and furnished my 1st house mostly from auctions!!! Another fun activity for us was going to Engine meets with my Dad to see all the old engines on display - my older brother is now hooked on these shows and usually brings an antique tractor or something to display - and we are talking about a 4 hour drive at least to get there! And sometimes animals would "accidentally" find a ride home with us - oops! I wonder what your guys will bring home!!!?

Cheers!
