A little quilty!

I got reminded that I haven't posted anything quilty lately. Sorry...I have to dust poor Bernina off anymore before I can even use her.

Here's two things that I have tried to do. These two quilts are string blocks made by members of our local guild--I've sewn them tegether. No, I didn't even make the blocks, but feel lucky to get to set down long enough to sew some blocks!

They both needed pressing before they go to the quilter, but while the wind wasn't blowing and Rusty wasn't around--I snapped a quick picture!

Here is what we've been busy with (besides the new house)--County Fair Time! Grand Champion Barrow. This is the last show before we go to the State Level--which is the first week in October. I'm always inspired at the state fair with the variety of quilts they have too! It'll be a fun trip.

Oh what a gorgeous pig! I'll have to show DD in the morning, she just loves pigs. Love the strings - how big are the blocks?

The tops look good - the pink one is interesting with the different size blocks and the setting you used. I've been reading and rereading Gwen Marston's books and I really need to break out of my symmetry mold!

Handsome pig. Good job on the ribbons! Can't wait to see how he does at state!

String quilts are the thing at the moment aren't they? Love that pig, the house and the pets. It is a very stressful time finishing off a house - at least you live next door. Once you get your sewing room you will be back into the sewing quickly.

Love the piggy pic! And state fair time is always a blast--I spend forever in the exhibition buildings, especially the photography and quilt exhibitions. Have fun!

I'm also loving your string quilts. I haven't made one yet so I enjoy looking at the endless variety, planning my first one. Then I remember you're not really supposed to "plan" them LOL.

Congratulations to the pig and caretakers. Good luck at the state level, too.

How's the house going?

Nice pig! We used to raise pigs, too, I miss the days when my kids took ours to the fair.
Thanks for visiting my blog, I posted a pic of the full Courthouse Steps quilt.
