Weekend Snow

Do weathermen ever get it right? Not complaining, but the 10" of snow that we were later predicted for actually turned into about 5" and the rest turned into rain. It was a very wet snow with big fat wet snowflakes. The wheat fields are soaking in all the much needed moisture.

These were taken saturday afternoon and by today, the sun is out and the roads are already clear. With 40 degree weather predicted for most of the week, all of the white stuff will be gone before long.

I did get to sew during our snowy days. The double 4-patch quilt I started last week got it's borders. I know it's a horrible picture--the outside border is a blue-plaid. I'll try to get another one of it when it comes back from the quilters.

Coming from a place where we watch for rain everyday - the answer is No - the weathermen rarely get it right. They say rain - heavy at times - we get sun - they say sun and clouds we get wet flurries!! Drives me nuts.

I love your scenery pictures- is that the view from your home? The quilt is terrific, can't wait to see what the quilter does on it.

I'm just catching up on everyone's blogs--these are gorgeous snow pix! I know you all have had it rough out there but my poor little southern children pray for just one snow day every winter. Here in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, we usually get some ice and freezing rain but rarely a really good snowfall we can get out and play in. I'm sending these pix to my farming DH at work.

The snow pictures are so pretty. I like it when it looks pretty, but doesn't coat the streets. Your quilt is very nice.

The four-patch quilt is wonderful! I like simple patterns, with only squares in different sizes. Yours is lovely.

Well, I think we got your snow. We were supposed to get 3-6 inches, max, last Sunday, and we ended up with over a foot. Of very icy stuff.

Lovely quilt!

Love that double 4 patch. The colours are great. You wonder sometimes about cameras, don't you? ie how that blue border could come out that colour!
