This was made last spring out of a bunch of scraps I had stashed. Some of the pieces aren't real small, but it still took awhile to get them together. No sashing--just a whole quilt of small pieces sewn in every-which direction possible. The borders are even left-overs from another quilt--yes, they're even different colors .
It's actually a favorite for the guys if they happen to be sleeping in the recliner. It's VERY long and will cover their feet and will tuck up under their chins to keep the cold drafts out.
I made my blocks and then cut them diagonal--for what reason, I have no idea, but it worked. Gives it a directional zig-zag look. This quilt stays in the living room. It's very big and very heavy. I wasn't real happy with the quilting on it (puckers) but it's a good utility quilt that every likes to use. The quilter hasn't had another one of mine sent to her either.

This would definitely qualify for stash-busting even though it was made a year ago!
I don't have enough scraps to make another one of these "monsters", but am aiming towards a string quilt made from HST. I can always make strips from ugly FQ's.

What a marvelous quilt! That's exactly the kind of quilt I need to make next so I can empty a bunch of these boxes and bins. I can see why it's a favorite.
WOW!! That looks awesome! It also looks huge! You may have inspired me to get out my scraps and do one of these...hmmmmm If I do I'll send you a pic. have a great day!!

Wow, that is a one big quilt but I can see where the guys would want one that would cover them from top to bottom, LOL. I did that how much you changed things--52% here but mostly because I moved and got a cell phone and computer, LOL. Who told them that I barely use the thing??? The phone---obviously NOT the computer.
Just getting around to catch up with you and the ring!
WOW! what a spectacular quilt! LOVE IT!
Wonderful! great way to use up those odd little pieces! Looking at it must be like a trip down memory lane for you.
It's great - I bet it IS heavy. That probably adds to its apeal
The diagonals really "make" that quilt! Too bad about the puckers. (I have a quilt back from my LA'er but it is in my husband's office right now...)
This is a great quilt. I really like the diagonal lines and the zig zaggy effect it has on the quilt. I'm sure it reminds you of all the different quilts you have made.
Great quilt! I like it! I just am not a scrap person and I admire those of you who are!

Great quilt! I like extra long and heavy quilts too!
Cheers!
