This is what they call the levels in the hills out in Western Oklahoma. The breaks or levels of rocks are very pretty and make the drive a lot more interesting than the flat lands where I live.

No matter where you go....why is the grass always greener out on the highway?

Hi~ just stopped by for a visit. That is a good question...why IS the grass always greener on the highway!?? Hope you can stop by for a visit.
Great pictures. It looks like you're doing a bunch of traveling.
A very good question indeed. Here in Iceland it's usually not the cows or horses that are on the road side (although it happens, usually because of broken down fences and with some terrible accidents if it's in the autumn when it gets so dark at nights)
Now, the most usual road kills are the sheep. If there is a ewe on the left side of the road you can be positively sure the lambs are on the right side and as you head towards them in your car they will wait until the last minute to run over to mommy so you'll have to brake in haste with every loose thing in the car piling up in the front, grrr.
We have a few sheep but we have put up fences to stop them from going on the road, the ones that do (landscape prevents us from putting fences every where) are future steaks.
The most road kills happen on old dirt roads where there is put salt coating on the roads to prevent dust. Sheep just love salt.
