Life at Full Throttle

What can I say...life this time of year is just busy.

How about some "Highlights" from the family?!
  • Three more days of school. I really don't mind my kids being at school, but this time of year they are starting to need to be de-toxed from the other kids.
  • Three more days of school....and my youngest will be a Senior! And then the expenses will begin!
  • Since I don't have an internet connection at home (thanks so very much technician that won't show up) I don't have new pictures to post.
  • We are gearing up for wheat harvest. I don't know when the combines will be rolling, but the wheat is starting to turn colors. The temperatures were 100 degrees for the past three days and thankfully it's going to cool down to mid 80's over the holiday weekend. Too much heat too fast and the wheat berries will ripen too fast and shrivel up....(kinda like me when I'm out in the sun too long).
  • I found out that my niece is getting married in August...so another quilt project to make during our BUSIEST time of the year!
  • DH's class reunion is this weekend. I hate those things....and DH loves them. He's told three separate couples that our house is open if they need a place to stay. HUH?
  • MIL/FIL's 50th anniversay is coming up. (Can you say frozen punch? yum)
  • Was told last night that instead of a one-cheesecake request for a friend's daughter's wedding.....it's a THREE cheesecake reception!
  • Oh, just wait till I get to post a picture of what I got for Mother's day! Just remember....I'm a farm wife....and use your imagination.....it was NOT on my wish-list!

Until next time...maybe I'll have some pictures.

hmmmm, what DID you, the farm wife, get for Mother's Day?

When I was 16, and all the other girls were getting cars, (I was a horsewomen on a farm) my Dad gave me an International Harvester Manure Spreader, and, (this get's better ...)I LIKED it! City girls couldn't appreciate this comment!

Sounds like you're busy. Isn't that the way it always works out though.

One year my husband gave me a brand new riding lawn mower for Mother's Day. I loved it. Bessie and I had many happy years together.

My guess is a new windmill for the garden?? Maybe some new stock?? Although the manure spreader and riding mower both sound plausible too...LOL.

Speaking of wheat, Tracey (thee handworks) and I would like to know if you'd grow us some white wheat?? Maybe I could convince her to ride along to pick it up. :^D

Good luck with all your entertaining....just think - it'll all be over soon.

Very busy here too- when things pick up, they really pick up! Sometimes I wish things were more evenly spread out, but that is just the way it is. Mother's Day - Little Boy picked me an entire wheelbarrow of flowers! Best present ever, even if our front borders are now bare! I'm staying tuned to hear what you got.

Cheers!
Evelyn

Full throttle is a great description. I'm glad school is out. Love that the kid will be around more. (Maybe) Mine's a senior too. Pretty exciting!

Saska, you sound super busy but I know somehow you can sneek some of your sewing in, at least I hope you can. Sounds like you need to get your sweet DIL to help you with some team sewing again...Does she cook too? Can you make an extra cheesecake and fax it to me? What's one more?! For my guess for Mother's Day I can think up several things: A new straw hat, a new pair of work boots, overalls, a new tractor or lawn mower, gee, that list could go on and on. I can't wait to see what you actually got. Take care, I'll be praying for cooler weather for you, hugs, Linda

I got a new edger for my Birthday last year...and use it often! Sounds like you are plenty busy...and the wheat ready to harvest already!
