The bargello bowl is finished and the teams have probably already spent the money they made from the actual football game, but I'm a straggler finishing a few weeks late. Almost the whole quilt is made from a sack of plaids I picked up at Quilt-Guild one night. There are a few shirt-scraps in it, but not a bad sized quilt for a $5 investment of fabric. I also extended it 3 extra rows on the sides to use up the strips I already had cut. Do plaids multiply in other people's house like they do mine?
I actually had 14 come for Valentine's night. It was a good time. Guess we're practicing for Sunday's lunch group.....we have no idea how many to expect. Glad teenagers aren't picky eaters.
We've had over 2" of rain and a little ice. Had to travel about an hour away for a stock show--which was not a good show for our show-team. There will be another one next weekend, so life goes on!
Tme to get the mystery quilt back out and finish it. Jeanne is going to have hers finished before I do.

I love your bargello! Congratulations for finishing yours to the flimsy stage! I love the addition of the pieces on the side.
Hey, I like this too...I do not work too much with plaids but after seeing yours, I'm ready to start!
If you keep on cooking for such large crowds, when do you have time to quilt? Can't you talk any of those men into helping you? Maybe do some cutting for you?
My bargello is still a flimsy too and I still haven't gotten my Mystery finished either. I don't count it as a UFO yet cause I'm still working on it. I don't know what the time limit is to change from WIP to UFO so I guess I can make my own rules, huh...Take care, Linda
I love your bargello! I still need to add borders on mine. I like how you used plaids! I love the look of plaids, but get really nervous about using them. I wish I were more confident with plaids.

the bargello looks good.......I think you have done prety well to get it finished in a week or 2.....
Fabulous quilt, Mama K. I don't know that I would have the courage to play with plaids that way but, WOW, does it work?
Thanks for the direction to Debbie Mumm in your previous post. I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed her stuff until I popped over for a visit.
And thanks for always sharing views from farm life. It brings back wonderful memories of summers with my farmer aunt and her family. A hard life, but many rewards
Wow, that new kitchen is sure getting broken in!We were always glad to have the boys and their friends hang out here, too. That way we knew they were all safe :)
Still trudging along with my blocks. The sashing and cornerstones added half a zillion more pieces! Maybe tomorrow I'll have the center all assembled and can take a pic. Then I have to think about borders ...

Your bargello looks great!!!
I really like what you did with the sides on the bargello. I have a couple of my panels done but that is as far as I have gotten. I might steal your idea when I get far enough along!
Love your plaid bargello! You might just have motivated me to give plaids a try. Well done!
How did I miss this?? It turned out GREAT!!!
I like the addition of the long stripes on the side. It really gives it good character!!
lovely bargello!! Mine is still just strips and wished. I need to get busy!
What a great bargello quilt! I love how you finished the side borders.
I like the extra rows you added, separated by that narrow border. It adds something interesting to the top. I really love that it was a $5 investment!
Those plaids make it look soooo comfy and snuggly - already! Amazing how different fabrics can make the same exact pattern look so different! Your version is something that I would just love to snuggle under...
Cheers!
Evelyn
