If you didn't know what happened to me...I tore a tendion in the side of my foot and stretched out a ligament in the top of my foot....Should say I tore a tendion in the summer of 2009 and they JUST NOW figured out why I was hurting so bad!
Nice surgon said that I'd be in a hard cast for four week...do you KNOW how long FOUR WEEKS is? Especially when you're on crutches. It felt like 4 months!
This is the soft cast that I wore for the first week. It was heavy and I hurt SO bad. Loritabs are wonderful for pain and between DH and DIL, they keep me sleeping a lot this first week.
The red cast I got on next. Luckily it was warm enough that I would set outside once in awhile so Rachel and the cats would keep me company.
The blue cast went on after I got the 11 stitches out. The scar isn't too bad, but even now after 6 weeks the foot won't quit swelling.
The doc said it would take a full ten months to be totally healed. I'll just be glad when #1 the pain is gone, and #2 I quit limping.

oh take care of the foot..........forced rest.........
Oh my! I feel your pain! You poor thing, I know it is miserable not to be able to do what you want but then again it will be worth it to get rid of that pain.
I fell back in the early Spring and fractured my femur bones in both legs. I was flat on my back for what seemed like forever. Surgey hurt so bad and then got an infection in my right leg and had to have a second surgery to let it drain. I'm just now getting over that mess. So I do understand how stressful it can be.
Hope you get better real soon.

Whining is OK -- been there, done that!!! Let some of the others fuss over you - and take care. I guess you can still sew, can't you? Do you have a small ironing board at the side of your machine so you don't have to get up and down?
Glad you are past the worst of it (I hope). I can definitely identify. Messed my ankle for the umpteenth time the first year Tom and I were married. After the final fall and tear I was put in a cast up to my knee and spent our first aniversary in it. Don't know which was worse, navigating stairs or the itching. And I drove a car with a manual transmission once a week to work when I couldn't ride with Tom. I should add the cast was on my clutch foot too.
So sorry to hear and see your ouchie. And in the winter time no less. Cold toes for sure! Don't over-do it so you heal quickly. Speaking from experience there unfortunately. :/
Ouch!
Good thing it's not your "sewing foot"!
Is that a hard cast with your foot swelling? Take it from me - soak that baby off if it is swelling and hurting - that is a recipe for disaster - maybe the DR could give you an adjustable soft cast or something? I hope it is feeling better by the time you get this message. Let me know - I am worried about you! Cheers! Evelyn
