March Madness

If somebody would come to my house and

*do the laundry,
*fold the clean laundry,
*clean out the dishwasher,
*fix supper,
*clean the kitchen,
*clean the bathroom,
*pick up the living room,
*go to work on a daily basis for me

THEN, I might be able to get some sewing done! But, I can't get any takers.

I keep telling my guys that if we didn't have to eat or wear clothes, then my life would be so simple. Can you imagine not having to go to the grocery store, not needing a 'fridge, not having a washer or dryer, not ever cleaning out the dishwasher again, or not having a messy closet? Oh, if only in my dreams. I kinda freaked the boys out when I mentioned the idea of not wearing clothes.

Dh calls it spring fever. We get this way every year because we're so ready to get out of the house and work outside more. I keep telling him that we need to move further south, but he likes it where we are. I have no relatives that I care to stay in the area for, but he likes it here.

I am so ready for the daffodils that are peaking out of the ground to come up and show me some color. These aren't from my garden, but if the wind doesn't beat them to death we should have some......sometime.

When you find that person, send them my way.

I always have great plans on sewing for a day. But then reality sets in. Laundry, cleaning, cooking, playing with the boys...

I honestly fantasize about retirement when I can sit and sew all day. And I am only 36!!!

I know what you mean about the up keep of a household. Sometimes I just say too bad and spend time in my sewing room. My house isn't spotless and that's okay. Keep well!

You could always get a maid -- although it would be hard to justify getting a maid just so you could quilt -- LOL. Ah but we could dream :))

There is always something else to do, isn't there?

You do have options - you can hire out those services - buy take-out, get a maid. That'll free up your time. I personally think the price of a maid was reasonable enough for me to have one, when I have a good job that is.

You can always teach the boy show to do their own laundry, etc. They need to learn the skills anyway, so you will be helping them out by teaching them.

Well - at least it isn't mud season yet! For years my Mom did the laundry for many, many kids in big rubbish buckets (1 soapy, 1 rinse) with a special "laundry" toilet plunger. We had an old ringer from one of those old washing machines that she would ring the clothes through and then hang on the line. For some reason - no one ever believes me when I tell them this. Finally, when 1 of my older sisters was about 13 she used all her savings to buy Mom some old, beat up washer, LOL! And - to help keep the house clean - Mom kicked us out of the house in the summer and we slept in a big tent with cots and ate at the picnic table! Now, that was fun!!!

Cheers!

Thank you for the picture of the daffodils....... The temperature dropped here today but they tell me tomorrow will be better. I needed something to remind me of better (warmer)times to come.

Taking care of those wonderful family members does seem to eat into our sewing time. But don't we know they are worth it...........

I hate it when Life Gets in the Way and the sewing machine has to take a back seat.

Glad to read that the list is still up. It's an indication that you're not cleaning but perhaps doing pleasurable things like quilting! ;o) lol Keep well!

I know what you mean! I'd hate to tally up the hours spent doing mundane chores! I'd probably cry because of all the quilting time I have missed!

My house is a mess - I really need to take a full day out and just clean. I did get 1/2 the way through the laundry this weekend but I have to finish that up tomorrow.
